“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

What To Expect

Visiting a new church can be awkward. We get that.

When you visit FCVBC, you will leave with new friends. You will find our fellowship very friendly and inviting.

Some people will be dressed casually, some will be wearing suits and dresses.

The music will be hymns and choruses accompanied by the piano, base guitar, acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

The children’s message will be relatable for all ages and the adult message will be Bible-based and life-applicable.

Come us you are. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

He is not here: for he is risen. - Matthew 28:6

What We Believe

FCVBC is a Christ-centered community that adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message.

Although we are a self-governing body, we cooperate with the following organizations :

Bell Baptist Association

Texas Baptists

Southern Baptist Convention

Texas Governor Greg Abbott at the First Cedar Valley Baptist Church new building dedication.

Where We’ve Been

First Cedar Valley Baptist Church was founded in 1942 as Cedar Valley Missionary Baptist Church in the community of Cedar Valley approximately 11 miles Southwest of Salado, TX. In those early days, the church met under a bush arbor. The arbor was eventually enclosed to make the first actual building. In 2009, the church moved into a beautiful new building just West of the original facility.

On April 12, 2022, tragedy struck the Cedar Valley community when a EF-3 tornado touched down, destroying many homes and structures, including the church building. But we have a God who “works all things together for good” (Romans 8:28), and on April 1, 2023 our current church building was dedicated in a special service featuring Governor Greg Abbott.

First Cedar Valley is so thankful for the generosity of our community an the leadership of our pastor Donnie Jackson, as we continue to be a “city on a hill” to our community.
